Melanie von Bertouch

Owner/ Speech Pathologist

Melanie graduated from Newcastle University in 2002. She moved to Townsville in 2009 and opened Coastal Kids Speech Pathology in 2010.

 

Melanie has a strong interest in the areas of literacy development and stuttering. Her passion is in helping families and children make long-term gains in their communication skills, and celebrating the successes along the way.

 

Having two children, Melanie understands the demands and stresses of parenting and aims to work with families to achieve their goals.

 

She is a Certified-Practising Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia.

 

You will find Melanie working from our rooms at West End.

 

Kayla Hess

Kayla Blomfield

Speech Pathologist

A Townsville local, Kayla graduated from James Cook University in 2013. Kayla also has extensive experience in early childhood, so she knows kids really well.

 

Kayla has a strong interest in speech disorders. She is a Certified-Practising Speech Pathologist and member of Speech Pathology Australia.

 

Her commitment to professional development sees her attending workshops and courses in order to deliver quality, evidence-based speech therapy services to her families.

 

Kayla works from our rooms at Deeragun.

Tiare

Tiaré Lanser

Speech Pathologist

Tiaré graduated from Newcastle university in 2013 and commenenced working for us in January 2016

 

Tiaré brings a great range of skills and knowledge particularly for kids with disabilities.

 

She has participated in a range of professional development since graduating including Hanen training and training in DIR floortime.

 

She also has skills in neonatal feeding and skills in the use of sign and AAC.

 

Tiaré works from our rooms at West End.

Charlotte Papp

 Speech Pathologist

Charlotte is the newest “speechie” to join the Coastal Kids team and is excited to begin working with Townsville families who are seeking assessment and support of their children’s speech, oral language and literacy skills.

 

Having previously worked in education settings across both primary and high schools, Charlotte is enthusiastic about working with children of all ages to maximise their communication and learning potential at home and in the classroom.
